Bubble Bar Ingredients
Share
This blog post is all about the ingredients that are in my handmade bubble bars. Let’s start with the liquid ingredients, first is cocoa butter (Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter), this is extremely moisturising for your skin and makes your bath feel more luxurious. Next we have vegetable glycerin this also helps to moisturise your skin. After that we have Polysorbate 80 which is a synthetic ingredient that binds your oils and water together dispersing them evenly in your bath so that you don’t get a layer of oils sitting on top of your bath water, it also helps the colourant that is used not stain the bath tub! The last liquid ingredient I use is the fragrance (Parfum) or essential oil which helps to give the bubble bar its wonderful scent.
Now for the dry ingredients: the first one is bicarbonate of soda (Sodium Bicarbonate), the surfactant SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate) which is gentle on the skin and creates the wonderful lather and bubbles in the bar and finally cream of tartar (Potassium Bitartrate) which helps give the bar stability and its smooth texture. I also add liquid colourant to the bars to make each one stand out and provide uniqueness.
