Bath Bomb Ingredients

Here are all of the different ingredients that are used in my collection of bath bombs.

Sodium bicarbonate, also known as Bicarbonate of Soda is used widely in cosmetics, most notably in bath bombs when combined with citric acid.

Citric acid is odourless, white in colour and comes in the from of granules. It is a compound that can be naturally found in citrus fruits like oranges, limes and lemons.

SLSA is a gentle, natural surfactant that provides a rich, stable lather in your bath bombs, shampoos and other cosmetics.

SLSA is quite mild, and is a lot less irritating than SLS. It is a white powder that is relatively fine in grain size, think somewhere between our bicarbonate of soda and citric acid in size.

Cornflour is a basic ingredient also known as cornstarch that is used in bath bombs to slow down the chemical reaction of the bicarbonate of soda and citric acid when it hits the water.

Sweet Almond Oil is extracted by pressing the kernels of the almond tree. This carrier oil is refined and has a light golden colour and a subtle scent.

Polysorbate 80 is also known as tween 80 is an emulsifier and solubiliser that is used to blend oil and water together in cosmetics.

Super Strength Water Soluble Dye Powder gives the most amazing results. This powder can be added directly to bicarb with any added liquid and mixed well, to make a vibrant pink bath bomb that turns the bath water vibrant pink too!
Raspberry Fragrance Oil is a succulent raspberry fragrance infiltrated with sweet juices of orange, apple, strawberry and vanilla musks.

Jasmine Fragrance Oil is a lightly scented and exotic floral fragrance, identical to freshly picked Jasmine flowers. Its sweet floral aroma is valued for its calming properties and creates a warm and relaxing ambience.

Biscoff Fragrance Oil is a balance of both sweet and spice.
